~Vision, Power, Royalty...Meet the Queen~
I remember coming home from a birthday party when I was about 4 years old to the smell of pine sol & the sound of Kenny G blowing through my dads speakers. This is the first moment in my life I remember falling in love with the "music with no words." When I was 9, I picked up my first violin and was determined to learn how to play. My first violin teacher was a BlueGrass phenomenon, and that was my foundation. After my parents split up, my sister Ness, mom and I moved to Seattle where the only outlet I had was music. I literally didn't speak my entire 8th grade year of school. I joined a couple of orchestras and a quartet by the time I was 13, and also taught myself how to play the cello. At 15, I left Seattle and reunited with my dad. Moving and transferring schools so much made it difficult to "fit in," especially being the black girl who plays violin. I put my instrument down during my rebellious high school years, and moved to Atlanta, GA. at age 18. This is where my roommates and I formed the rap group "Orange Beach." I moved back home to Cali when I was 21. The group split up, and my sis Raelina encouraged me to continue forward on a solo journey. I released my first mixtape: "Pre-Ejaculation: A Dose of What's Comin'" shortly after my best friend was murdered in 2011. The people I was doing music with at the time didn't think it was a good idea to release it so quickly, but I was emotionally driven and beyond ready to get something out. It was the best decision I ever made. I started rockin' the mic at shows, and in 2012 I picked my violin back up. I was a little rusty, but the same determination that ran through my blood as a child kicked back in full fledged. I incorporated my violin with a beat someone sent me, and performed it at the Mint LA. (Click HERE to check out a clip). It was a huge success, and all the motivation I needed to continue forward with my "rapping/violin" career. I came across Stella "La Flaca Lee" at one of my shows at Que Sera in Long Beach, and shortly after asked her to join me in my journey. We've been soul sistas ever since. I started teaching private violin lessons to children from my Los Angeles home early 2016. This has given me so much more reason to push forward, and give back.
I came up with the idea of witEAZEent because as many artists, I am extremely talented in many different areas and finding ONE “career path” seems overwhelming. I am always asked why I don’t pursue being just a rapper. Why I don’t go to cosmetology school and pursue my passion of doing hair. Why I don’t join an orchestra, why I don’t manage a restaurant, why don’t I go to culinary school, blah blah blah. The truth is I am equally passionate about everything I put my mind to do. I am an artist. I am a lyricist, violinist, cellist, bartender, server, cook, cosmetologist, skateboarder, song writer…the list goes on. I thought to myself, why not start my own company. Help the people I love to pursue their dreams and live to their fullest potential doing exactly what they love? I’ve had everything and lost it all. I’ve spent timeless hours and overtime into working for employers that made me feel replaceable. If I work as hard for myself and my loved ones as I do for someone else, there is no reason in the world for my dream to not come true. There is nothing wrong with my way of thinking nor the direction I have chosen because every move I’ve made placed me right here where I am today: The CEO of what will be the legendary multi-billion dollar corporation for artists all over the world.
